Urochem 101 is a two-component clear epoxy primer which has been designed as a high-performance bonding agent for use in conjunction with Urochem polyurethane and epoxy compounds where maximum adhesion to porous substrates is essential. Its low viscosity allows for deep penetration into porous substrates and its high solids content ensures bonding even when subjected to immersion in water.

Application

Mix base and activator thoroughly and apply the mixed material with a brush or roller to ensure complete coverage. Particular attention should be paid to any voids and hollows. Allow at least 30 minutes for the solvent to evaporate before applying the topcoat. If after 3 hours or once the primer has lost its tack, re-prime before applying topcoat. Protect the primed surface from dust or dirt, which could settle and interfere with the adhesion of subsequent coats.

Product Application

To act as a primer for Urochem epoxy and polyurethane compounds when applied to porous or friable surfaces such as concrete or plaster or when water immersion or dampness is anticipated.

Cleaning

Clean all tools with Urochem 901 before the primer has cured as it is almost impossible to remove once this has occurred.

Surface Preparation

Correct preparation of the substrate is critical. All surfaces should be clean, sound, and dry, and all laitance or surface contamination should be removed by wire brushing, grinding or grit blasting. Vacuum or blow with compressed air to ensure removal of dust.

Description

Urochem 102 is a one part chemically active silane primer for non-porous substrates. It is clear and non-staining and is specifically formulated to improve the adhesion of Urochem polyurethane and epoxy compounds onto glass, ceramics, sound masonry and brick surfaces.

Application

Transfer a portion of Urochem 102 into a clean container and apply a thin coat by brush and allow to dry for at least ten minutes before application of the topcoat. If not overcoated within three hours, reprime. Urochem 102 is non-staining and any excess material applied is usually not noticeable.

Product Application

Its main application is as a prime coat for Urochem polyurethane sealants when used on non-porous substrates. It is not recommended for use in water retaining structures, or in applications where continuous dampness is anticipated or where the substrate is either porous or friable.

Cleaning

Clean brushes after use with Urochem 901.

Description

Urochem 105 is a one-part moisture cured, clear, aliphatic polyurethane primer for use as supplied. It is clear, non-yellowing and is specifically formulated to improve the adhesion of polyurethane and poxy compounds onto ceramics, masonry, natural stone, and brick substrates.

Application

Transfer a portion of Urochem 105 into a clean container. Tightly seal the original container to prevent the contents gelling. Apply a thin coat of primer by brush and allow the solvent to evaporate before applying coating or sealant. Once the primer loses its tackiness, re-prime.

Product Application

As a primer coat under Urochem epoxy and polyurethane compounds, when used in paving, curtain walls, expansion joints in tiled areas, and between pre-cast units.

Cleaning

Clean brushes after use with Urochem 901. Once cured the primer may only be removed mechanically.

Description

Urochem 205 is a two-component fast curing sealing compound based on a polysulphide polymer blended with fillers and chemical curing agents, which cures after mixing to form a durable rubber like seal. Highly elastic, withstands continuous extension and recovery. Resistant to ultraviolet light and ozone making it ideally suited to drinking water reservoirs. Suitable for exterior use, and for use where the sealant will be subjected to contact with chemicals, solvents, and oils.

Joint Design

The minimum width and depth of a joint should be 6mm by 6 mm. Horizontal joints, where possible, should be at least 12 mm wide and not more than 25 mm deep. The depth of the joint should never exceed its width. Except in the case of water retaining structures, the ratio of width to depth of 2: 1 should if possible be maintained. Joint width should be at least four times the maximum anticipated movement.

Product Application

To form a long-lasting water and weatherproof seal in both horizontal and vertical moving joints and joints which are subject to continuous cyclic movement. Typical applications include joints in curtain walls, floor expansion joints, in workshops, factories and garage floors, between pre-cast units and filling station forecourts, and in water retaining structures. (Potable water). Can be trafficked after 2 hours.

Surface Preparation

The correct preparation of the joint faces is absolutely essential. All surfaces should be clean, sound, and dry. Laitance or surface contamination should be removed by thorough wire brushing, grinding or grit blasting. Metal surfaces should be free of mill-scale and rust and mild steel should be treated with Urochem 617.

Priming

For porous or friable surfaces or where severe conditions are expected use Urochem 614 single pack polyurethane primer. Allow at least 30 min for the solvent to evaporate before applying the sealant. Should the primer lose its tack, after approx 3 hrs, you will need to re-prime.

Mixing & Application

Transfer the total quantity of activator into the base component and mix thoroughly using a slow speed electric drill (5 to 10 minutes). Fill the sealant into a closed barrel gun. Gun the sealant into the joint filling from the bottom up. Tool to a smooth finish using a rounded spatula.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean all tools and equipment with Urochem 901 before setting. Contact with skin should be avoided by wearing gloves and protective clothing.

Description

Urochem 211 is a two-component sealing compound based on a hydrophobic polyurethane resin and an isocyanate curing agent. The system crosslinks to produce a tough, durable rubber like seal. Its unique chemistry ensures that it is unaffected by high concentrations of acids, alkalis, and water-soluble salts.

Product Application

Typical applications include its use in both vertical and horizontal joints in bonded areas designed to contain chemical spills, sewerage treatment plants, sumps, laboratories, and chemical manufacturing plants.

Joint Design

The minimum width and depth of a joint should be 6 by 6 mm. Horizontal joints, where possible, should be at least 12 mm and not more than 25 mm deep. The depth of the joint should never exceed its width. Except in the case of water retaining structures, the ratio of width to depth of 2: 1 should if possible be maintained.

Surface Preparation & Priming

All surfaces should be clean, sound, and dry. Metal surfaces should be free of mill scale and mild steel treated with a suitable anticorrosive primer. For porous surfaces, severe conditions, or continuous immersion, use Urochem 101 or Urochem 106 Epoxy Primer.

Urochem 260 is a twin pack pourable or gunable PU compound designed to be used as a joint filler in floors where movement is limited. Due to its high compressive properties, it helps to reinforce the joint arises against the effect of wheeled traffic. It exhibits good resistance to cleaning solutions, mild acids, alkalis, and oils.

Application

The joint depth should be a minimum of 50mm. The depth of the joint should be controlled by using a compacted layer of dry 5mm silica sand and the joint is then filled with the thoroughly blended Urochem 260 to the full depth by pouring or gunning. As a flush finish is required, overfill to create a raised surface, then top up if needed. Excess material should be shaved or ground flush the next day. No priming is required.

Product Application

As reinforcing joint filler for low movement joints in floors designed to handle heavy wheeled traffic. In new floors, installation should only commence after a minimum of 28 days of curing.

Surface Preparation & Mixing

All surfaces must be clean, sound, and dry. Blast clean steel surfaces to at least SA 2.5. Mix the two components together using a slow speed electric drill for a minimum of 3 minutes. Use immediately as the product has a limited pot-life.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean all equipment immediately after use with Urochem 901. Avoid skin contact.

Superior resistance to abrasion, ultraviolet light, and ozone. Ideal material for use in sewage treatment plants. Urochem 299 LV cannot be used on vertical surfaces due to its low viscosity.

Joint Design

The minimum joint dimension is 6 x 6 mm, but we recommend 12mm x 12mm where possible. Except in water retaining structures, a width to depth ratio of 2:1 should be maintained.

Description

Urochem 515 is a high-performance low modulus moisture curing sealant, based on hybrid technology which is both isocyanate and VOC free. It has a good cure rate, excellent moisture, and oxidation resistance, and exhibits excellent adhesion to cementitious substrates, asphalt, brick, stone, steel, wood, and ceramic tiles. Extremely low modulus and high elongation, recommended for areas where extreme movement is anticipated (50% of initial joint width).

Application

Place sausage in the barrel gun. Insert backing rod to the correct depth. Gun the product into prepared joints and smooth with a dry spatula. The joint width should accommodate the expected movement. Minimum width of 6mm and a maximum of 50mm should be adhered to.

Product Application

Can be used as a joint sealer and crack filler on various surfaces. Can be used externally in road joints if recessed by 5mm to avoid tyre wear. Not recommended for use in water retaining structures. Overcoatable, however the coating will crack as it won't stretch with the sealant.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces to be clean, sound, and dry. If used in severe or damp conditions, prime with Urochem 106. If applied to natural stone, recommend Urochem 105 Primer.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean tools immediately with Urochem 901. Cured material is very difficult to remove. Avoid skin contact.

Urochem 303 is a twin pack, solvent based, high solids epoxy coating cured with a cycloaliphatic cross-linking agent. Although of low viscosity and easy to apply it rapidly cures to form an exceptionally tough flexible film with very good abrasion and chemical resistance. Its low solvent content ensures that maximum build is achieved with each coat.

Surface Preparation

Surface preparation is of prime importance. Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and dry, remove all grease, oil, dust, laitance, etc. Steel surfaces should be clean, sound, dry, and free of mill-scale.

Priming

Prime steel with Urochem 617 Zinc Rich Primer. Concrete may be primed with Urochem 307 clear, or if sound, dense and well cured Urochem 303 may be applied directly.

Product Application

As an impervious, resilient, and chemically resistant floor or wall coating in manufacturing plants, garages, factories, food processing plants, laboratories, and workshops.

Mixing & Application

Mix the base well, add the activator to the base and mix with a flat paddle. Apply by brush, roller, or airless spray. Allow a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 24 hours between coats. Two-coat application is recommended.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean tools immediately with Urochem 901. Flammable and contains organic solvents. Use only in well-ventilated areas.

Urochem 304 is a twin pack, solvent free, epoxy coating cured with a cycloaliphatic cross-linking agent. Designed to provide a decorative and protective surface to concrete, asbestos cement, steel, and fibreglass. Forms a permanent, hard wearing chemical resistant finish, suitable for pedestrian and rubber wheeled traffic. Characterised by good abrasion resistance and ease of cleaning.

Surface Preparation & Priming

Surface preparation is of prime importance. Ensure the substrate is clean, sound, and dry. Prime steel with Urochem 617 Zinc Rich Primer. Prime concrete with Urochem 307 clear.

Product Application

As an impervious, resilient, and chemically resistant floor or wall coating in manufacturing plants, garages, factories, food processing plants, laboratories, and workshops.

Mixing & Application

Mix base well, add activator. Spread the mixed material with a notched trowel or squeegee to a minimum thickness of 1mm and roll with a spiked roller.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean tools immediately with Urochem 901. Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided by wearing protective clothing.

Description

Urochem 305 is a filled, thixotropic, solvent free, epoxy adhesive. It has been specifically designed for mortar patching and as a general-purpose adhesive in the construction industry. It is characterised by a good working life and a rapid cure.

Product Application

Patching of concrete, bonding of horizontal starter bars and dowel bars, and as a general-purpose adhesive and filler.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces to be clean, sound, and dry, and free from any oils, laitance, dust or curing agents. Steel should be abraded, and concrete should preferably be abrasive blasted.

Application

Mix the base and activator components thoroughly together until the colour is a uniform grey. Where the concrete is porous, prime with Urochem 101. Apply the compound with a spatula or trowel. Bonded surfaces should be kept under compression until the epoxy has set.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean tools immediately with Urochem 901. Avoid skin contact.

Description

Urochem 306 is a high gloss twin pack epoxy enamel paint which provides a tough chemical resistant easily cleaned surface, which once cured, is non-toxic.

Product Application

Used as a surface coating for floors, concrete surfaces, machinery, pipes, ablution blocks, hospitals, schools etc. The product should be applied by experienced personnel only.

Surface Preparation & Priming

All surfaces to be clean, sound, dry and free of loose material. Prime steel with Urochem 617 Zinc Rich Primer. Prime concrete with Urochem 307 clear.

Application

Mixed as supplied with a low-speed mixer and a flat paddle until streak free and homogeneous. Applied by roller or brush.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean tools immediately with Urochem 901. Contains organic solvents. Flammable. Do not use in confined spaces.

Description

Urochem 307 is a water-based epoxy coating specifically formulated to seal and adhere to damp substrates.

Product Application

A protective, decorative and oil resistant floor and wall coating for cementitious and masonry surfaces. It can be used as a top-coat and/or shut-out coat on bituminous substrates. Finds its main application as a coating where there is residual moisture in the substrate. Not recommended for water retaining structures or wet substrates.

Surface Preparation

Ensure all surfaces are clean and sound. Remove all standing water and ensure that there is no rising water. Urochem 307 may be applied to damp but not wet surfaces.

Mixing & Application

Add activator to base and mix thoroughly until smooth. Apply within 40 minutes of mixing. Apply with a brush or roller and allow to dry for at least thirty minutes. May be over coated within one hour.

Cleaning & Safety

Clean brushes after use with Urochem 901. Contains traces of organic solvents. Do not use in confined spaces.

Description

Urochem 230 is a filled, thixotropic, low slump solvent free, epoxy bedding mortar and adhesive. Specifically designed as a specialized adhesive for Urochem FPO (Flexible Polyolefine) bandage systems used in potable water reservoirs, as well as for bonding Carbon Fibre strengthening strips.

Product Application

Bonding of Urochem FPO and other polymer membranes to prepared concrete in Potable Water Reservoirs, and bonding carbon fibre reinforcing strips.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces to be clean, sound, and dry. Any exposed steel must be cleaned to a bright finish.

Application (FPO Systems)

Apply mixed Urochem 230 at 1mm minimum thickness. Bed the Urochem FPO membrane into the adhesive using a firm roller. Apply second layer of Urochem 230 above the membrane. Total thickness should be 2mm.

Description

Urochem 309 is a low viscosity, solvent free, epoxy compound. It is unfilled, moisture resistant and exhibits excellent flow and adhesion to concrete. Used for the repair of concrete that has cracked due to excessive loading.

Product Application

Restore silos, water retaining structures, columns, beams, floors, bridge decks. Used for bonding of starter/dowel bars vertically into concrete.

Application

Horizontal: Mix and simply pour into the crack. Create a small surface reservoir with sealant if needed. Vertical: Bond on injection nipples using Urochem 305, seal face of crack, allow to cure before injection.

Description

Urochem 313 is a modified, solvent free epoxy adhesive specifically formulated to bond wet to cured concrete. Excellent adhesive for use with properly prepared brick, concrete, and steel.

Product Application

Bond new to old concrete, bonding various components to concrete. Recommended as a screed adhesive.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces to be clean, sound, and dry. Steel should be abraded, concrete should be abrasive blasted or etched. Rusted reinforcing should be primed with Urochem 617.

Mixing & Application

Separately mix base and activator before combining and mixing for at least 5 min. Apply with a firm bristle brush working well into rough areas. Cast new concrete onto coated areas before adhesive loses tack (+- 1 hr).

Urochem 901 is a medium evaporation solvent with high solvent strength that is widely used for cleaning in the construction and chemical industry. Main function is cleaning wet coatings from mixing and application tools.

Product Application

Used as a thinner and cleaner of epoxy or polyurethane compounds and resins and uncured joint sealants. Note: will not dissolve chemically cured materials.
